FOUR YEARS LATER… You are a character named Jackie in a story called Almost Perfect. In this world, you are about to face a terrible storm. The three great powers–the World Government, the UFO Research Center, and the freedom fighters–all have a hand in the destruction of your country. Right when you think you know what’s going to happen, you realize that you don’t have all the facts…and that things are about to get very, very complicated.
MY INITIAL REVIEW:
The Cover Your Eyes trailer looked like the perfect game to slip into my pile of unplayed games. What could be better than a game about hidden secrets? I had been impressed with what I had seen on the Kickstarter site and looking through the changes, it had more potential than any game I had played in a very long time.
I’m a collector of games about paranoia, mystery, and espionage and this one caught my eye the most.
The Story:
After battling an alien invasion that nearly wiped out civilization, Jackie is now living in a nation, Wisconsin, that is recovering by putting aside its differences to work together for the greater good. Jackie is a spy in the spying game that you play on the free version. To get the extra cards, you have to buy them in the shop.
If you want to play the game, you need to play the free version.
In the free version, you play the game to get access to the cards you want. That’s where the fun is.
You are tasked with playing the game as a spy. You are supposed to reveal your cards when you want to reveal them, and when you want them hidden, you hide them. Sometimes you have to give away cards. The cards will come back in the free version, or they won’t, but it doesn’t change the fact that they come back in the game, unless you’ve chosen to play it without the cards.
It’s an interesting concept, and a really good one for a freebie.
You get to play the game for free, and it’s easy to see what everyone else in the game is doing at any time. That, to me, was the best part of the game. I didn’t have to be sneaky, I didn’t have to be hidden. I could find out what everyone else was thinking about almost as quickly as I had to get there myself.

– You control the story scene by scene, with a very good narrator who reads the dialogue aloud.
– 3 chapters are devoted to telling the tale of one character’s life.
– There is a helpful and thorough help system with a glossary of unusual words that the narrator cannot explain.
– Scripted voice overs and a custom sound track make the book an immersive experience.
– Game play consists of finding hidden objects, solving puzzles, and uncovering a spooky mystery.
– As you complete each chapter, you must choose between saving the brother and his wife or helping the brother uncover a murder that may affect his health.
“Small Town Terrors: Pilgrim’s Hook Collector’s Edition” is all about uncovering a murder from a character’s past. It centers on a Pilgrim, who is a kind man that everyone admires, but his past is the cause of some problems in his present. He is asked to accompany his brother Joe, who is ill and very much in need of his help. The narrator does an excellent job of serving the story well by reading a few lines at a time and speaking softly and clear enough to be heard without a headset.
“Small Town Terrors: Pilgrim’s Hook” has a few glitches. Some chapters work fine but others work very poorly. The game’s narrator is very stiff and the book version of the game’s narrator is not great. However, the audio book version of the game’s narration is by far the best and is a quality product that can be purchased separately for this game.
The quality of this audio book is truly amazing. The writing is clear and the narrator is skillful. His voice is the perfect choice for this story, and I believe that was taken directly from the author’s original preference for the type of reading he was using for this audio book. The narrator did a wonderful job and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to listen to this story.
However, when I got to chapter 8, I got “AUDIO RESTRICTION” error. After resetting my mobile device several times, this error would never go away. Usually, an app is inoperable after resetting, this was not the case. I was so frustrated that I almost threw my phone out the window.
When this happens, you are instructed to restart your mobile device by holding both the home button and the power button until the word restart appears. This process will start up again
