I have some early J37 tape from Waves on a headless Windows 7 PC. It’s the latest version of the Wave5x plugin and J37 is the latest version of the J37 tape. I can load the Wave5x plugin and the J37 driver, and start the tape player. But if I choose J37 Tape from the Wave menu, the tape player does not start, and the Wave5x plugin does not play. If I do the opposite, Wave5x from the tape player and J37 from the Wave menu, the wave5x player does not play, and the J37 plug-in does not load.
(It’s a different problem from here because it’s the wrong tape and the wrong Wave5x plug-in but the same problem with J37.)
If you check in the Wave5x plug-in if the CMD variable is set to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\WAVE5X.EXE” I guess there might be a problem in the path where this wave5x.exe is installed.
Did you try to change the variable to point at the latest windows release of Wave5x.exe. There might be a fix already made in the installer.

That’s the same as me. I have tested the plugins and drivers on my desktop machine and they work fine.
