It can recognize only spam if pictures exist in email text. It can recognize spam if message contains pictures, but only if they have original size. It can recognize spam if the message contains advertisements in pictures, but only if the picture is original and pictures are of correct file format (jpg, gif, png, tif, jpeg). It can recognize spam if the message contains shortened URLs, but only if the URL is correct and it actually exists. It does not recognize spam if the message contains advertisements, but it does not matter if the message contains distorted or real advertisements, as long as they have correct size (for example if message contains watermarked advertisement, if the watermark is real and visible in whole picture). Messages containing only links to free web pages, like ads appearing at the bottom of a page, will be correctly filtered, but they must be real links and the web page must be accessible with no problems from the internet. It does not recognize ads if the link is to a page that does not exist, if the link is to a web page that shows incorrect copyright statements or that has not a given theme etc.
Spam filter may need to be adjusted to new domain/email address, especially when changes are made to the server, but training should be carried out. To update the filter, open the Antispam Marisuite options, click on “Update Antispam”, “Current profile settings” and choose the new profile to be used.
The filter engine will only be able to recognize spam if it contains advertising, it must be entirely uploaded or entirely download. Messages containing advertisements (except dropbox or “pay for download” popups) will be filtered out. However, in order to filter out popups, the script must be able to manually identify them, since they do not provide any identifying information.
If the email contains advertisements, the Spam filter may be overwhelmed by the messages. Usually the best thing is to just remove the messages from the email, not to let the filter process them first.
With permission, you may use the Email Cleaner tool to filter a copy of your email that you want to send through the filter.
It cannot recognize spam if it contains advertisements in foreign language, if the sender is a government agency or if the sender is a free mail box or free domain. If you want it to recognize spam with foreign languages you must install the appropriate Language Parser tools
