I’ve spent all week working on the new narrative for The Game Changers. I’ve recorded and produced my own dialogue and layered in some voice work from a cast of amazing newcomers. I also finished this Efisode and included some of my favorite bits from my past and present projects. If you are looking for a longform piece of dialogue, I’d highly recommend getting a copy of The Game Changers: Episode 1 for $5. It’s not a perfect product, but I think there’s something to be said for quality over quantity.
Check out the Efisode with a couple of bonus features too.
In an interview with Polygon, former Halo producer Robert Keyes spoke about the reason behind the franchise’s decision to make major changes to the series. The quote I found most interesting:
“Halo is just one of those games that has the biggest fan base in gaming history, and we didn’t want to make changes to this game that would

Deckbuilder is a game of vertical tactics, where two or three enemies face off against each other in a variety of tactical battles. Defend your territory against waves of incoming enemies, employing every weapon at your disposal, to maximize the territory you can defend.
“Defend your territory” is a metaphor for defending your life. A player can choose to make calculated attacks on enemies or let them fall into traps, set to take them out in a variety of ways, to maximize the amount of territory he can defend. As weapons are used, it is possible to end up with a territory so strong, that it can be defended continuously.
Board Game War decided to dive straight into the strategy genre, which I have yet to be interested in. This is generally because I’m not very good at it. I enjoy building a deck and then trying to maximize its effectiveness. This is much the same way I like playing collectible card games: run a deck really well, improve it, use it in a tournament to win. This game seems to be a spinoff from the indie game Imbroglio, though Deckbuilder is a game where the decks are essentially miniatures. Deckbuilder seems to be much more about expanding your board much more than I’m usually interested in.
Colour me skeptical.
The early tutorial is fun, but not immediately satisfying. There are no simple bits of equipment to do this or that. No, instead, you must build the weapons of your arsenal, and then you must get the weapons into your hand. For this to be satisfying, I feel, it must begin with an awesome battle. This game does not have that for me.
There is a relatively complex victory screen. Once, there was a custom match maker, but this feature was removed. I don’t play online. Without custom matches, victory requires investing a huge amount of time and money. I have never been a fan of victory screen tactics, and this game gets more and more tedious with each victory.
I can’t think of a unique aspect of this game, but there is a fair bit of it. Environments are procedurally generated. The game has most of the standard things a board game would have: a map, command areas, major and minor objectives, supplies, special items. There’s no room for customization, but the game provides basic set pieces for things like ease of play, but after that it falls into that same

What’s new in Through The Ages:
There comes a time in everyone’s life when one needs a break. While the original Agarest was adventure gaming, this follow up (…and that’s me and all my sis’s who played it years ago) is a turn-based strategy game with partial roguelike elements. After about 30 hours of play through my first game, I tried the second adventure. Its story was a bit lacking, but it is in a 16-bit ROM and it felt like a throwback to the 1990’s. There are so many ways to die in this game… I could make it through a lifetime without dying.
While I tried to upload the actual file for the second game, something went wrong.
I am dedicating this story to Micky, who was my wife of 10 years (1944-1954) and the first college roommate I met while transitioning back from R.T. to college. Rest in Peace, Honey. Thanks for everything.
A few weeks ago, I finally finished managing to hack my Mushishi Vita Color to run a bootloader that lets us play old Japanese games with our national console.
This was the first “Useful Game” unit and proves to the public that you can make old and broken EPROM chips live on by using an emulator. It’s a small device that must be replaced by coins and model number, which makes it hard to recommend. It also didn’t have reliable power output.
When I was at Yudosei Jr.’s house, we went to Ikebukuro and I bought an ICS 2 Player outside of the mall (he has been intending on buying it for a while). When I dropped it into the console, several things happened.
1) The first time he loaded it, nothing happened and the only choice was to reset
2) The original firmware is now showing up on the Wii Menu
3) Browsing for the new Vita Color (we had recently fixed it), the Bass value was still at 70%
4) I got a notification message from Nintendo saying that the Vita Color has a unauthorised firmware
Initially, I thought the device had been hacked by a friend, but the way the situation played out, it wasn’t. So we had to restore it from completely zero.
Over the next few days, I lost track of the unit,

We strive to create games that push the envelope of the graphics and gameplay to create a fun-filled experience. This game is no exception.
The game is set in the not-too-distant future. You control a group of people that are all only 10 meters tall. To fit the setup of the game, you will need to do one of two things: eat (or drink).
You use the knowledge of Humanoids to survive in a world where Humans are no longer. Living in the city, you have the ability to leap up and across objects, interact with doors, windows, objects and people, and use weapons that you find in everyday life.
In a human world, you fight the enemy, the humans that still live in the city. Your allies are your screenmates. They will pass food to you, save you from dying of thirst, and help you against other groups of screenloopers.
