ASP.net mvc action cannot download file
I have a little problem, I think maybe I’m doing something wrong because I’m new in asp.net.
I have a simple asp.net mvc action and a controller with a GET method:

return new FileStreamResult(file, “application/zip”);
}
After calling my action I have an error in my browser:
HTTP Error 404.0 – Not Found
The requested content appears to be script and will not be served by the static file handler.
How to solve it?

You shouldn’t be returning a byte array. You should return a FileContentResult object.
The reason you’re getting the error is because you return a FileStreamResult object from the action.
And also your ajax call that calls the action needs to know about the extension in the result. For example
