    ANDREW DODSON REVIEW Plagued by monsters and a lack of growth, the social life of an elven Lord in the Lands Between is about as empty as his bank account. But when it comes to war, he’s someone you don’t want to mess with! This new edition of the popular Dragon’s Dogma brings a new Hero class into the mix – the melee warrior. So if you’re a sucker for action games, you can play as one of a variety of different classes, including the thief, mage and warrior, depending on how you want to play. If you’re feeling particularly brave, you can even opt for a dual-wielding Knight to try and bring down the enemy. The story is pretty great. There’s a big focus on morality in Dragon’s Dogma 2, so if you get the wrong impression of the first game, this has all been cleaned up. Be warned, however, as there is a lot of swearing. The real selling point in Dragon’s Dogma 2, however, is the new Hero class. This isn’t a Jedi in Star Wars, or even a vampire in Twilight. With four different styles of movement, the Hero is one of the most flexible characters in the game. Playing as the warrior is optional, but it’s a breeze. You can run, jump, dash, slide, block, and even use a sword and shield, so if you want to play as a tank, there’s not really much for you to miss. The Hero has a lot of health, so don’t worry about playing them rough. There are no random encounters in the Lands Between, so at the very least you’re not going to get pwned by a dragon. Your enemies will be more manageable though, so keep an eye out for high-level creatures when you level up your character. If you’re a bit more of a thrillseeker though, you can always jump right into the air and fly across the map, as the Hero class comes with the optional air mount.
