Know Photoshop The most important thing to know about Photoshop is that it works great as a design tool, image restoration tool and image manipulation tool—and not necessarily in that order. You don’t have to be an illustrator, photorealistic painter, or graphic designer to use Photoshop. Anyone with a few spare hours should be able to turn a good digital picture into something far more interesting than the original. Of course, you’ll want to know certain things about the basics of Photoshop before doing a project yourself. Many people prefer to use a dedicated image editing software such as Photoshop Elements or Pixelmator to edit photos because Photoshop itself can be a bit overwhelming for those new to the program. You’ll find your workflow and workflow tips, tools, and features to be very similar between the two programs. Personal Photography Photoshop’s been around long enough that it’s an old friend to many photographers, and many photographers also use Photoshop for personal projects such as making digital albums, retouching printed photos, and cropping and merging images. For those making one-off projects, Photoshop can be a great tool because it has a lot of robust tools to edit and alter an image. As usual, Photoshop has lots of tools and ways to alter images. The following images of my daughters show how you can pretty up a picture with Photoshop. Effects There are several effects you can use that give your photos a retro, retro-inspired look. For example, you can use a vintage filter to blur the picture and make it look aged. The best ones to use: Vintage Photo and Frame 2-Layer Create a vintage movie poster effect by using the Vintage Photo filter and Layer Style. Create a black and white version by using the Black and White Transfer filter. For a more realistic vintage look use a great filter called Vintage Photo and Frame. Create a general effect, then make it look like it was painted on or was part of a movie poster. The most useful features of Photoshop and Elements are divided into three categories: Drag and Drop The drag and drop feature allows you to copy, paste and move any type of objects from one layer to another. Undo and Redo While the standard version of Photoshop has a “History” tool which shows every action performed on the selected image. Elements have “Undo” and “Redo” buttons, which allow you to undo or redo the last action performed. Image Adjustments Elements has powerful editing functions for changing the image’s color and brightness, sharpness, etc. Using the Elements Editor Elements has a built-in image editor to easily create a new image. The Elements Editor is similar to other graphics editors such as PaintShop Pro and Paint.NET. Learn To Use Photoshop Elements: Applying Photoshop Layers You can save many images, text, PDF, or Flash objects into a new file. Adobe Photoshop Elements users save their files in layers. Layers are one of the most powerful and essential features of Photoshop. Before you can apply a new image to the active layer, you must first create a new layer. For this, you first select the layers option from the layers panel in the Photoshop application window, click the New Layer button, and name it. You can then add the new layer to the current image with the Layer > New > Layer. Now, you can apply the new layers to the current image. To do this, click to display the layers panel, and then double-click the “New Layer” button located at the top-right corner of the layers panel. Now you can either drag-and-drop a new layer on top of the current image layer, or you can use the pop-out menus of the layer to add it. To remove a layer, you click it and drag it to the trash can. To remove all the layers, select all the layers and drag them to the trash can. You can then delete the trash, which should return all the layers to your image. Apply Layers Effects You can add a number of effects to your layer. A pre-defined set of effects will be pre-applied to the “New Layer” button in Photoshop Elements for you to use. Q: How to retrieve images from a jpa repository and display them on a jsp page? I am using Spring and JPA to retrieve data from a database. There are two tables, one with a column of “imagePath”, and one with another column of “someData”. I created a class that maps the imagePath column to a property and the someData column to an another property. When I retrieve the data from the database, the image is displayed correctly. But when I try to display the image in a jsp file, nothing happens. I know it’s not related to the way I coded the data because I can retrieve any other data and they show up. The only difference is the column name. My applicationContext.xml file
