PyReScene is a Python port of the.NET built ReScene application. ReScene is a software used to backup and restore the metadata from “scene” released RAR files.

The application is in the PyPi repository. To install the package run the following command:

pip install pyReScene

How to use the program:

Copy pyReScene.py and pyReScene_user_interface.py to a directory, for example:

“mydirectory”

Make sure you’ve the python interpreter in your PATH environment variable:

“export PATH=;”

Now you’re ready to run the script pyReScene.py:

“python pyReScene.py”

To run the script pyReScene_user_interface.py you should open a terminal and run the script.
In this case you should have a GUI for you to select a folder, as well as the number of files to backup.

The application is made to run directly on a terminal.

A. Customize and set the name of the scene format

If you want to be able to use another format name then create the file:

mySettings.py

and add the following lines:

pyReScene is developed as a Command Line-based tool that allows you to create SRR files for all your releases.
pyReScene is a Python port of the.NET built ReScene application. ReScene is a software used to backup and restore the metadata from “scene” released RAR files.
A ReScene backup file is a compressed file which stores the original scene folder metadata (folder structure, files, filenames, compression settings, bitrate, metadata, content) saved on a defined date in a defined date format. ReScene-based backups can be used to restore the same content on a new RAR file at a later time.
ReScene can save metadata from a RAR file (name, size, description, path, etc.) or it can just store content. The latter is especially useful for complex content releases, for example games (including file compression, CRC32 checksums, compressed images and video, etc.).
pyReScene stores the metadata you want to backup. It allows you to backup (or import) them to your ReScene database. After that, you can select which files to include in the restore operation, and it will recreate the scene folder structure and content on a new RAR file at the desired date.

How can I use it?
I used it to make a backup of a project that I have been working on, and it has been awesome. It has saved me from a lot of headaches, and I have been able to recover several files that I forgot to export.
I hope that it can be useful to you as well.

Get the file names from dictionary.
Check the file type in archive.
Get the file extension from dictionary.
Get the file extensions from dictionary.
Get the full path and file extension from dictionary.

You can compress the.r files to.zip with winrar, here is the command:
