50 dead in Cambodia landmine blasts: media

CLANG ONG ROR, Cambodia – Explosions from two landmines Wednesday killed 50 people in Cambodia and wounded many others in a densely populated farming and river-crossing area, an official from the South-East Asia country said.

The mine explosions were reported in four remote areas of this southern region, an area that is heavily militarized by Cambodia’s two largest armed groups.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
